About the Studio

Golden Universe Dance Studio is a non-political and non-religious group. It was founded in 2000 by Art Director Ms. Yu Jin.  The group consists of over 80 members, each of varying background. All of the members have been attracted to the Studio by their affection for Chinese culture, dance, as well as Ms. Jin's artistry and enthusiasm.  In addition to acquiring skills in dance, the students seek to build self-esteem and better health.

In the past eight years, Golden Universe Dance Studio initiated, organized and participated in numerous dance and cultural events, including cultural festivals, local community charity activities, and Chinese schools.  The dances performed by the Studio are authentic in both choreography and costume.  Recent academy performances include International Youth Dance Performance Competition, World Dance Showcase in MD, Dance DC Festival, Maryland Gala dance concert, and the Chinese New Year Gala in Strathmore Music Center. 

金雨歆舞蹈工作室成立于2000年。集大华府地区热爱中国民族民间舞蹈艺术的华侨同仁于一体。是大华府地区最早成立的非专业舞蹈艺术华人华侨团体。目前有团员近百人。由中国专业舞蹈艺术家金宇女士担任领导。其宗旨为学习、传播博大精深的中国民族民间舞蹈艺术。工作室开办8年来举办和参与了多项美中文化交流活动。包括连续两年经过激烈竞争代表中国参加每年一度的大华府地区美国舞蹈界国际舞蹈大展；经过多层选拔每年被选送参加华盛顿特区九月举办的美国舞蹈节；今年五月美国举办第一届亚洲舞蹈展，金雨歆舞蹈工作室是唯一一个被邀请出演中国舞蹈的团体。除了参与美国主流社会的艺术交流活动，金雨歆的各种舞蹈更是无数次展现在华侨华人的舞台上。每年的新年晚会、春节联欢、元宵节、中秋夜、文化节、以及美国的独立节、感恩节、圣诞节等等都可以看到金雨歆舞蹈的身影。尤其是2004年举办了第一届青春中国舞蹈专场后，更是带动了大华府地区群众性的舞蹈文化活动。在此基础上由金雨歆舞蹈工作室领导金宇作为艺术总导演的2006年中国文化节取得了极大成功，受到盛赞。
